Personal branding for business cards and new website.
The war poets event was a one off event that allowed the viewer to experience various elements of the First World War and looked closely at the friendship between the war poets Seigfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen. This was a group task with each person being in charge of a certain element. I was directed the challenge of Graphic Design and also contributed to the ideas for this event. The pieces I created can be seen in the images above.
The pom-pom project is a global campaign to spread joy and happiness. This project was inspired by public art and its aim is to bring people together, turn the world colourful and make people smile. The project was advertised via viral marketing and 1000 kits were sent worldwide. Flickr and Facebook groups were created allowing people to upload their images and videos of their finished pom-poms in situ. To date over 550 images have been uploaded and collectively there are 352 members. As part of the final outcome a book and an interactive map were produced.
D&AD Diesel brief (2011) - create an illustration interpretation of a musical track that is experienced by the viewer in an unconventional and pioneering way. My response was an online competition asking people to add their thoughts on Owl City’s songs. The best twelve would be chosen and made into limited edition jars that could be purchased in store. The scene will also be made into a window display for Diesel.
Olympic Blueprint is a project exploring the architecture of the Summer Olympic Games and looks closely at the building designed specifically for the games. Using sourced images from the internet I began to pick out shapes from the stadiums which provided me with the main basis for all my work. Above is posters designed to advertise the event.
Olympic Blueprint Exhibition Space The tunnel is the main focal point of the exhibition. As soon as you enter the hall you are emerged in the tunnel and surrounded by a series of shapes cut into the tunnel walls. As you pass through the tunnel there is a series of elements for you to interact with. The tunnel acts as a timeline; the walls are arranged so that they run in order of when the Olympic Stadium was built. The empty wall space around the room is used to further explain the olympic buildings using a series of interactive elements. The empty floor space has plenty of seating allowing you to take in the space.
Projectified (2010) – Created all typography for our exhibition in December 2010 which included this poster showing the thoughts of the students on my course.
Sam RK (2008) – Create advertisement to launch a new fashion label, Sam RK. This project allowed me to use my photography skills as I directed a photography shoot in Glasgow using three sourced models. I then edited these images using textures, added a logo and strap line before showing them in situ. The above right-hand image shows a magazine advert I created.
